Using a fossil-fuel-powered generator in times of power outages or for general use when you are not connected to a public power source may seem convenient. In actual truth, these generators are potentially deadly, and they aren't clean sources of energy. They produce greenhouse gases which are released during combustion as the fuel burns in the generator's engine. These gases contribute to today's climate changes we experience. Aside from affecting our planet, it produces carbon monoxide(CO2) which contributes to airborne pollution and is dangerous for humans to inhale. The large sizes of these generators and the sound they produce is unbearable.
With cleaner energy generation, we don't need to worry about greenhouse gases or noise or even size as we would in fossil fuel generators.
1. Battery-powered generators

Battery-powered generators are a modern wonder. They are great alternatives to fossil fuel generators as they do not emit any gas this making them environmentally friendly. Battery-powered generators are quiet, their batteries can be charged from an external power source. For these generators, it is the amount of battery life they store that they can expand. They do not typically generate their electricity per se. They are super convenient and safe for home and outdoor usage. You can charge up this generator by plugging it into your solar panel, vehicle, or electric outlet at home. A typical battery-powered generator is portable with a Direct Current (DC) charger, and USB outlets. For your outdoor camping activities, battery-powered generators are a great fit.
2. Solar-powered generators

One of the most popular clean energy sources is solar. Solar generators don't run on fossil fuels, and they are a better alternative to them. They convert sunlight to electrical energy using the laws of physics. Solar-powered generators are quiet, safer, and more convenient for power generation. Solar-powered generators consist of two parts, the solar panel, and the power storage. The solar panels are usually kept on top of buildings or other places with clear openings because of sunlight. The downside of using solar-powered generators is the cost of setting up the generator, but their maintenance cost is low and the lifecycle of the panel is high (around 20 - 30 years).
3. Wind-powered generators

Wind turbines generate electrical power by a rotation of the propellers attached to them. This works by converting kinetic energy from wind and storing the generated energy in electrical form. This clean energy source is great for large spaces as they are usually manufactured for such an environment (usually farms) although, smaller ones can be manufactured for homes. The wind turbines are connected to a green generator to power homes, and they don't emit any gas but the turbines are noisy. Using wind turbines in an environment means there has to be an abundant breeze in that geographical area. Mounting wind turbines may usually cost high, and to generate sufficient energy for a large scale you need a lot of breezes. In comparison to fossil fuel generators, wind turbines are cleaner and safer.
As we generate our power either for indoor or outdoor use or to power our equipment at any time we should always remember to go green by sticking with clean energy solutions.
