SOLAR POWER VEHICLES

Solar panels convert sunlight to electrical energy. It is one brilliant energy solution for our modern age. When the sun shines on solar panels, the panel generate electricity through the conversion of photons. Solar panels consist of cells called photovoltaic cells. These cells are all linked within the panel such that electricity flows easily.

Solar panels have become widespread now, and this is because of ongoing wide-scale sensitization on renewable energy. Most applications of solar panels are for homes and business use. Using solar panels for cars would be a game-changer to the automobile industry. A lot of car manufacturing companies have been experimenting with using solar panels as the primary source of energy for their automobile. Toyota, Squad Mobility, Hyundai, and other renowned car manufacturing companies have made heads way and more are still pushing in. We have seen companies like Sono Motors releasing hybrid electric solar-powered vehicles. Essentially, some advantage of cars running on solar that makes it attractive for futuristic usage are:

• No pollution

• Eliminates the cost of fuel, you just need to change your battery

Even though solar-powered cars are advantageous and all clear signs point that they should replace current automobile energy sources, there are still some major limitations for solar panel usage in powering automobiles. Some of the limitations are:

• Small space on the body of the car.

• Cost for mass-producing quality, long-lasting, and efficient panels.

• The maximum speed the car can reach.

• The distance the car can travel.

• Climate conditions.

The reality of cars running on solar power shouldn’t be the cap by these factors. It is believed that as the reality of solar-powered cars becomes mainstream in the sense that they contribute to the sustainable transportation system, more headways will be made in car manufacturing.
